After the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, makes a play to take control of Gotham’s underworld. Aside from a Bat-signal in the final shot of the season finale, we never got a glimpse of Robert. Pattinson’s cameo in “The Penguin.” With this short video, IMDb attempts to answer: Where the hell was Batman? According to showrunner Lauren LeFranc, Batman will not appear in the series. “I understand why people want Batman or think that if Batman isn’t in the series or the movie, he doesn’t have the same punch. I think it’s different. Matt’s movies are through the lens of Batman, so when you’re up there, you’re looking down on the city. It’s a different perspective. With Oz, you’re on the streets of the city, you’re in the mess, the mud, and the dirt. He was looking up, wanting to claw his way to the top.” The DC Studios logo is located in a rainy alley in Gotham. An umbrella falls and the logo changes to Warner Bros. logo featured on The Graham Norton Show: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I never understood putting a skinny, fit actor in him and putting massive prosthetics and a thick suit on him…especially considering he looks like other famous actors. that would have been just as good. Also, I really didn’t understand why this spinoff was coming, and to be honest, I’m sick of the Batman reboot. But after episode 1, I can confirm that this show is amazing (so far). I only watched it knowing it was a must-watch bridge between the first and second movies and my surprising enjoyment of Farrell’s role since the first. But I didn’t expect to like it so much. The acting is great, the writing is great, and it surprised me with its quick twists. The biggest thing I liked was that there was a lot more color here than in Batman. I noticed it almost immediately because that was a huge complaint about the movie (it felt like I was watching it through a Zack Snyder lens). I hope this continues to be as good as it is because I really can’t wait for the next installment.
