International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) has put together a group of world experts to apply smart tech to the challenges of sustainably feeding a growing planet. This Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) has been tasked with mapping the standardization landscape surrounding smart farming across the entire food value chain situated within the context of the UN SDGs and assessing the need for future standardization.
Within the SAG, the ISO members for the USA and Germany are coordinating experts from 21 other member countries. Each ISO member interested in participating has nominated an expert to introduce content relevant to the context and interests of their respective countries.
The SAG together with relevant stakeholders will produce an overview and plan for smart farming standards, expected towards the end of 2022.
