A prequel to the original Dune, telling how the Bad Sister evolved into the Bene Gesserit
Narrative
Two Harkonnen sisters battle forces that threaten the future of humanity and found the legendary sect that would become known as the Bene Gesserit. Whether exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women of science fiction This series uses material from the Great Schools of Dune trilogy by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.
This spinoff is more Game of Thrones than Dune
The incident with Valya Harkonnen’s voice is from an event called “Mentats of Dune.” All three books intertwine with the development of the Sisterhood, the Mentats, the Navigators, and the Suc Doctors. It’s a great spinoff from a beloved film franchise
I have to start by saying that I have never read the source material or seen the original film. My experience with Dune is based on the two Dune movies that have come out in recent years starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya. Those two movies (especially Dune: Part Two) are two of my favorite movies I have seen in the past few years.
I really like both of them, so I had high hopes for this series
Dune: Prophecy is a series that takes place 10,000 years before the start of the Dune movies and tells the story of how the Harkonnen sisters created the Bene Gesserit as a fighting force that threatens the future of humanity. The show may feel more like Game of Thrones than Dune, but it is still a lot of fun. The most important thing about this show is that it does exactly what it sets out to do: deepen our understanding of the Bene Gesserit.
