With an estimated budget of €429 million, The Count of Monte Cristo is the most expensive French film of 2024
Narrative
After escaping from an island prison where he spent 14 years after being wrongly accused of treason, Edmond Dantès returns as the Count of Monte Cristo to seek revenge on the men who betrayed him.
He appears in The Big Week: Episode #113 (2024)
When Albert watches Hydee sing and play the guitar, it’s very obvious that he’s not even touching the strings half the time.
Well, it’s a great movie, the actors are good, the scenes are well-designed, and the music is excellent
However, for someone who has read the book before, much of the actual story is not only missing, but also heavily modified.
Some of the original characters are missing and are grouped under a new character (Angelel)
It’s frustrating and they’re the main reason it’s an 8 and not a 10, but I guess it’s not that easy to condense a 6 book story into a 3 hour long one.
So if you’re not a Dumas fanatic, check it out, you’ll enjoy it!
3 hours and 20 minutes feels like a good romance, great costumes, great action scenes and drama.
