The lead female’s younger sister is an old soul, way beyond her years with wisdom and advice, which seemed a bit unbalanced. The male lead’s girlfriend was the most realistic character of them all, being that she was nice, but potentially a snob, and yet wasn’t snobbish at all. She knows they were using each other for the glam aspect of dating, and she truly cares for him, and he for her, even though they aren’t meant to be. Good writing, even though the whole script is more along a YA level.
The Wedding Veil trilogy will conclude on January 21, 2023, with its final film, The Wedding Veil Journey, starring Alison Sweeney’s Tracy as she sets out on a long-overdue honeymoon to Greece with her husband Nick. About to step into a higher position at work, Emma wishes for her and husband Paolo’s careers to take off before they grow their family. But bumps in the road cause Emma to consider making a new life plan with a little help from her best friends Tracy and Avery and, of course, the veil. I will say this film won’t be for everyone as the pacing is a tad slow. While it was right up my alley, I don’t think some will be willing to give it the chance it deserves, but I hope they do because the story shows how one person can breathe life into you and change your life forever.

The 2023 Sundance Film Festival is off to a strong start, and my coverage continues with looking at the Daisy Ridley-led film, Sometimes I Think About Dying. The movie was one of my most anticipated movies of the festival. After news broke of Hallmark’s plans to release five spring movies, beginning with “A Picture of Her,” Hynes shared one of the news articles on Instagram and cheered on his fellow Hallmark “family” members.
As the title states, this movie is about receiving a boyfriend as a gift for Christmas, which is a weird gift to receive as is. This particular movie, however, specifically involves an honest-to-goodness real life Santa granting a little girl’s wish for a boyfriend, 20 years after the request was made. This might sound crazy, but being trapped in my hometown because of a horrible ice storm resulting in being reunited with my high school crush for one magical night, effectively ending my actual relationship in the actual city I live in, sounds absolutely horrible.
And that’s okay because, with the boom in Christmas movies for TV, what you’re not looking for is quality. Just last year while Holly Robinson Peete was promoting her two Hallmark holiday movies, the actress mentioned she wanted to do a film featuring someone on the autism spectrum. Society has gone a long time poorly understanding autism and we’ve come a long way from that time. Part of creating a more inclusive world is changing representation in the arts.
So it was a hard ask to have him believable in a romantic role. Simon is rather a sad excuse and needs Dalton’s Alex to show him to man up in life both with dogs and girlfriends. Meanwhile Alex is obsessed with her father’s abandonment to the point to hiding in her dog world. As so often the case in rom/coms, the two romantic leads help each other change their lives. Everybody loves dogs and so viewers are already inclined to enjoy themselves when watching dog centric movies.
