Graham Norton Show mentions: Denzel Washington/Paul Meskal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024 ). TLDR: Redmayne gets it right. Lynch is wrong. Unfortunately, the leads are not the same, detracting from an otherwise spectacular and high-quality product. Lynch has no shade, it’s just a high bar set by Redmayne. A more experienced actor would have provided a more believable partner/antagonist to challenge Jack. Overall, the story is a viable adaptation. Although some things are left open in the main character narratives, some kind of character development works, but it can be left to be desired. The locations, various interactions and Redmayne’s delivery of languages and changing characters really add a special layer to the story arc. The fraud barometer is always in the background. I look forward to seeing how Se01 ends and how Se02 maintains or improves on its quality. Hopefully Lynch will ease into being less forced and give a more nuanced performance to try and match Redmayne. If that’s the case, Se02 could be very promising.
