In the film, a mosaic comedy about the life of a woman navigating a long-term, casual BDSM relationship, a low-level corporate job, and a feuding Jewish family. Ann’s parents.. I saw this film at the New York Film Festival and it gave me goosebumps. Totally awesome, sharp, honest, and funny. I really liked the visual style juxtaposed with the overtly sexual content – it felt like a female gaze at work. I’ve never seen a film like this before and I loved it. The plot centers on Anne (Joanna Arnow), a Brooklyn woman who finds herself in an unsatisfying, long-term BDSM relationship (which comically resembles her everyday identity as a low-level corporate drone) as she loses her family, friendships, and “vanilla.” Dating. You Deadpan humor & Appreciate the subtle characters.
