Sony’s Concord FAIL!
Star Wars The Acolyte cancellation CHAOS! (2024). Personal Rating (extremely biased): 1-2/10 Normalized Rating: 4-4.5/10 maybe I went to see the movie with the perspective of it being fan fiction, already knowing about the ‘out of lore’ ; story.
The fight made no sense
But this one is worse, there is no respect and no effort put into the movie to make it meet the “good movies” line. With several scenes and dialogue that mirror or refer to the original trilogy (especially the Two Towers and Eowyn scenes here and there), this film does nothing more than simply parody the originals. Some of these were even introduced for no reason at all.
The dialogue for Helm is fine, I’d say it’s a good try
However, the dialogue for Hera is like something non-native English written on their behalf to avoid grammatical errors; too simple, very simple and not at all royal. The graphics and visuals are almost terrible, floaty, with little to no interaction between the characters and the environment. On some occasions, random 3D models were thrown in out of nowhere with no effort to mix them up in any way.
For fans, I don’t recommend watching the movie
Even for anime, this is very sloppy, sloppily produced. Some scenes, the resolution and frame rate of the background and its components were smoother and more refined than the main character, which is ridiculous. Overall it’s an ok movie to while away your time if and only if you’ve had' You haven’t watched or known LOTR or Middle Earth before and have excess cash lying around.
